Your Opportunities:

Medication Management:

  • Supervise self-administered medication for memory care residents
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, as well as Senior Lifestyle Corporation guidelines, under the direction of LPN/LVN/RN or Director of Health and Wellness
  • Count and sign for narcotics with approved personnel, reporting any discrepancies to supervisor immediately
  • Order medication and treatments from pharmacy, ensuring 7-day supply buffer
  • Verify medication received matches pharmacy label and medical record, reporting discrepancies to pharmacy and supervisor

Medication Storage and Maintenance:

  • Store medication properly, separating lotions, ointments, and liquids
  • Date vials and bottles upon initial opening, following pharmacy protocol
  • Conduct weekly inspections to remove expired medication
  • Verify MARs (Medication Administration Records) accuracy and report discrepancies
  • Move discontinued medication from Med cart and give to supervisor

Resident Care:

  • Provide personal care, including bathing, skin care, oral hygiene, grooming, dressing, continence care, and eating assistance
  • Perform general nursing care, such as vital signs, temperature, blood pressure, and weight checks
  • Document resident information in daily logs and notify supervisor of concerns
  • Answer calls and assist residents as assigned

Additional Opportunities:

  • Clean and restock medication carts daily, with weekly deep cleaning
  • Attend staff training videos and participate in ongoing education
  • Maintain accurate records, including preparing medical charts for admissions and ensuring completeness within 48 hours
  • Keep room neat and tidy, ensuring a safe and organized environment
  • Empty trash bins regularly to maintain a clean and hygienic space

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Current Medication Technician certification (depending on state regulations)
  • 1-3 months of related experience or training in senior living
  • Proficiency in English to perform job duties, communicate with supervisor and other employees, and respond to emergency situations
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Word and Outlook
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Superior time management skills
  • Strong team player with a passion for helping seniors
